June Newsletter

We were busy in May and are staying busy in June! Home prices have continued to increase year-over-year in Skagit and Island Counties, but the local market is finally seeing something we haven't seen enough of recently: new inventory. Both Camano and Whidbey Island saw double-digit increases in new listings compared to this time last year. If you are looking for a new home in 2022, the islands might just have the opportunities you are searching for!

June Gloom is in full effect but summer is fast approaching, and we are looking forward to all of the activities that make living in the PNW incredible. Local events include beer and cider festivals in Mount Vernon and, of course, 4th of July firework shows across the area. Come and take a tranquil visit to Whidbey or Camano Island, and leave the city behind for a few days while you revel in the relaxing pace of island life!

May Recap
Camano Island remained a seller's market in May despite fewer homes selling and more inventory. There were 34 homes sold on Camano Island last month, which represented a 36 percent decrease in home sales year-over-year. However, the number of new listings increased by 31 percent since last May to a total of 67 listings.
Whidbey Island's market also favored sellers. While there was no change in the number of homes sold since last May, there was a 19 percent increase in new listings. There was a slight decrease in home sales prices compared to April, but the average sales price of $614K still represented a 2 percent increase since last May.

Summer's "It" Color: Cobalt Blue

Blues add a sense of tranquility to home design, as the color reminds one of the sky or the ocean. The saturation of cobalt blue adds feelings of power and intensity. That might be why cobalt has become the "top blue of the year" in the eyes of many designers. The rich color has been used extensively, over the last year especially, on everything from loungewear and swimsuits to glassware and cooking utensils. Read more about why cobalt and other rich blue hues are making such a huge impact on all facets of design here:
